Pigs would never do such a thing. Pigs are nice. The US government on the other hand, not so much.

This is pretty laughable. It's become the commonplace strategy: 1. get all the data in the world, 2. be unable to do anything because you have too much data. It's still dangerous though, because they will use this data post facto. To take a banal example, they may decide to make X illegal, and then find everyone who's been involved with X, and put them under more directed surveillance. So data mining is very dangerous, despite being almost altogether useless in "crime fighting."
